As the original stomping ground of Kanye West, Common and Lupe Fiasco, Chicago loves its rap and hip-hop. Lollapalooza 2012 brings a new artist in this genre to sink our grills into with the electro-rap stylings of Chancellor Warhol. A talent hailing from Nashville, (who knew Tennessee had a rap scene?) Warhol’s first solo album in 2010, Japanese Lunchbox, was voted Best Rap Album of that year by the Nashville Scene. He’s already brought his vibe to Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and Sundance Film Festival – so it’s only fair Chicago gets to next sample his flavor. Having already supported artists as notable as Questlove and Kid Cudi, now you’ll have a chance to check out what he’ll be bringing to the BMI Stage on Saturday, August 4th @ 1:10 P.M.
